Caleb's New Wheels!

Check out Caleb's new wheels! This is a mobile stander. It works like a wheelchair but Caleb is standing instead of sitting. He is strapped in so that he has plenty of support. This mobile stander will allow Caleb to be upright and eye-to-eye with his peers instead of being on the floor looking up. We just got it yesterday so Caleb is still learning how to make it go but he has already pushed himself forward and backward several times. He is so smart! He claps for himself every time he makes it move. I'm sure some of you are wondering if this means that Caleb will have to have a wheelchair in the future. We don't know the answer to that question, no one does. The jury is still out on what Caleb will need. It is certainly possible that he will need a wheelchair for some things but we can't say anything for sure. Caleb is constantly surprising us so who knows what he will be able to do. We are so excited that he has this mobile stander, it is going to open up a whole new world for Caleb (and new things to get into!). We are anxious to see him wheeling all over the place and being more independent.

Bath with Ernie & Elmo

No blog is complete without some bath-time pictures. Caleb has always enjoyed bath-time but it has been even more fun with some new bath toys he got for Christmas. His favorite bath toy is a Sesame Street Pirate Ship with Ernie & Elmo as the pirates. He is showing off Ernie & Elmo in these pictures. Caleb wants us to label everything these days and here he has Glenn naming "Ernie" & "Elmo" about a dozen times. He loves his bath and it is getting harder and harder to get him out of the bath. He gets upset when it is time to get out. I think he would stay in there all night if we let him.

Big Boy

I took these pictures of Caleb today. He looks like such a big boy sitting and drinking from his straw cup. He is getting so independent, he is almost ready to move out on his own! I know I mentioned it in the last post but Caleb is growing up so fast. No one could have prepared me for how fast kids grow up. Notice the ring stack toy in the bottom right corner. I would like to point out that Caleb got about a million new toys for Christmas, toys that light up, move, and make noise and yet he finds his $5 ring stack toy (that he got last Christmas) to be endlessly entertaining. I would also like to point out Caleb's hair in these pictures. No amount of brushing could tame that beast! His hair is always crazy after the morning nap.

Blue Eyes

Have you ever seen a more beautiful boy? Look at those gorgeous eyes, that brilliant blue is straight from God. These pictures were taken over the weekend when we took Caleb to see his great-grandparents (MeMe & PaPa). We always have a good time there and Caleb is soooo fussed over the entire time. He was the center of attention and he loved it. He was worn out from all the attention, as you can tell from the picture of him yawning. Caleb is such a joy to Glenn and I. He is constant entertainment for us. We can't believe how big he is getting. We say almost daily "look how big he is". He looks like such a big boy in these pictures. He has really lost that baby look. I can't believe how fast the past 17 months has gone by.
